ESU-Georgia is promoting not only international understanding through the English language but also introduces Georgian culture to the UK and British culture to Georgia. Here are a few examples: ESU-Georgia has organized a number of cultural events in the UK. In 2003 ESU-Georgia invited a male choir “Tsinandali” to sing at Langolen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales where they were awarded the first prize. ESU-Georgia, supported by the Georgian Ministry of Culture, organized an exhibition of works by the famous Georgian painter Zurab Nijaradze at the Air Gallery in London’s West End.

ESU-Georgia invited two British veterans to Tbilisi in 2008 to celebrate Victory Day with their Georgian colleagues. These were two Chelsea Pensioners, resplendent in their famous scarlet coats and rows of medals, who joined the ranks of government ministers, including Georgian Prime Minister at the celebration event.

Every year ESU-Georgia celebrates the birthday of Queen Elizabeth II as Her Majesty is the Patron of the English-Speaking Union. In 2013 this event was attended by the British Ambassador to Georgia, Judith Gough, Peter Kyle, ESU Director-General, Evelyne Rugg, Director of Higher Education Policy of Westminster University and ESU-Georgia members.
